MENGAWASI PERILAKU INTOLERANSI DI LEMBAGA PENDIDIKAN

Abstract

The morale of the Indonesian nation tends to decline from year to year and various studies conducted have shown an increase in intolerance in the educational environment that leads to radicalism, fake news, and persecution. Bullying, differentiation based on religion and others. This also indicates a decrease or different understanding in interpreting religious teachings that are believed to have an impact on intolerance among students. This study aims to determine how the role of Christian religious education teachers in preventing intolerance through strengthening religious values. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, which produced descriptive data in the form of written or oral information from 3 informants who were Christian religious teachers. The results showed that Christian religious education teachers played an active role in preventing intolerance among students through socialization, strengthening spirituality during learning or outside learning. The existence of government policies regarding the rules for instilling the values of religious tolerance, cooperation between school members in religious activities. The inhibiting factors are: family background, community environment, level of ability, students' unequal emotional maturity, influence of social media, and friendship.
